Silcare Malta B-PRO Systems Hybrid Gel Polish
Hi everyone! I hope you're all doing well, even though it's too hot to handle right now! Anyways, today I'm bringing you a product review which I hope you'll find interesting and helpful! I had the opportunity to put to test 2 Silcare Malta products. This review might be appealing to nail fanatics and nail technicians like myself (click here to visit my nail page on facebook) or even to ordinary people who are just considering having their nails done. I'm sure you'll love a bit of info before going through the process itself :)

So, starting off - the products I'll be mentioning in this post are two Silcare Malta B-PRO Systems Hybrid gel polishes in the shades 107* and 113*. The beautiful and talented Karolina Dreliszak Aquilina, picked the colours herself and I must they're gorgeous worn on their own and even more gorgeous when combined together! For those of you who aren't that much into professional nail care - gel polish is a substitute to the regular nail polish, but provides no chipping, the shine doesn't get dull and lasts much longer if it's properly taken care of. It also needs to be cured under a UV lamp for 2 minutes. It is applied directly on the natural nail, after gently buffing to get rid of natural oils it produces. These type of products work best with a slightly rough surface. That being said, they can of course be applied on top of gel/acrylic enhancements.

Now here's the thing. The spectacular asset which makes them stand out from the rest is the fact that these are 3in1 gel polishes (no base,no top) which means you won't need to purchase a further base coat and top coat as the formula was created to serve all three purposes. Also, application time is dramatically reduced - so they would be perfect for a busy salon! They don't even need wiping off the tacky layer after they're out of the UV lamp!
Truth be told, I have bought a set of these 3in1 gel polishes a while back when they first launched as I'm always lured and intrigued by new and innovative product that has just been launched on the market. As a professional nail tech, my duty is to try as many products as possible so that I'll be able to give my clients the best there is. When I had first tried them out, I didn't like them immediately. Yep, not so much. I found that they kind of wrinkled and shrunk once the nails where out of the UV lamp and shine didn't last as long as I hoped for - all signs of under curing. I spoke to Karolina about the issue and it was just a minor thing. All I needed to do was apply thinner layers and leave them a little bit more to cure. All very common with gel polishes in general. Since then , so far so good.
The latest colours have different packaging. They have a different label and they've printed the colour number on top of the bottle, making it easier to spot. In all honesty I really do think they also have a better, improved formula. I gave these a shot on my nails, and even on my clients. I was truly amazed by how much the shine lasts and I had no chipping whatsoever even after 3 full weeks. As a nail tech, I use my hands all the time and still, the colour/shine didn't suffer because of that even when I didn't wear my gloves.
The only downsides I found in these Silcare products is the fact that due to their unique formula, it can apply a little bit streaky at times, so make sure to obtain maximum coverage and opacity of the colour before curing, without applying the layers too thick. The other one is the size. Compared to my other Silcare, Nsi and Andreiagel polishes they are rather on the small side, but with 8ml for €9.85 I can't really complain.
All in all, I think they're great products and would recommend to anyone especially fellow nail techs and nail tech trainees. Yes, this gel manicure process can also be done at home if you have the right tools and equipment but I really don't recommend you do. You might want to save some money by attempting a DIY, but the aftermath can result in irreparable nail damage. So I recommend you seek professional services, always. Gel polish mani/pedi's aren't expensive anyways. I know people who've had bad experiences with nail techs etc but if applied right, no harm will come to the natural nail.

On a final note, I'd really wish to thank all the helpful staff at Silcare Malta. Especially Karolina and Nathalie for always helping me out especially when I take about 35864 billion years to pick out exciting new colours haha Last but not least, I'd like to praise Silcare Malta as a brand, I have more products from their line and I just love them. Their gel colours are sheer perfection and have never let me down, so if you too are a nail tech, I urge you to give them a try.

Scholl Velvet Smooth Review
Hola hola mi amor !
Sooooooo, I don't post on here much - in fact I don't post at all LOL
But I've said that I'll posting news here, updates and reviews .. And today it's a review post!
I've been given 3 products by Scholl Malta to test out, so buckle up and keep on reading :)

So, to start off - in Summer I have the MOST cracked and dry heels ever. I blame my constant wearing of flat sandals, my genetic dry skin and my habit of walking around barefoot. I'm also quite a busy fox, so I don't exactly have the time to sit down and rest my feet throughout the day.
Last Summer was so bad that my cracked heels where clinging with sheets and clothing arghhh I hated that! It didn't hurt and it wasn't as extreme to the extent of them being sore or bleeding but it was still very uncomfortable and annoying. I used one of those normal pedicure hard skin removing kits, and it did get better but the build up was still hard to get rid of and
it can also get tiring with all of the manual filing.
Anyways, this Summer everything will be different!
I got to try this new, innovative battery operated tool called Velvet Smooth Express Pedi* (which btw I've also seen pink ones online - Super Pretty) together with the Velvet Smooth Foot Soak* and the Velvet Smooth Essential Moisture*.
Now, first impressions on this dead skin remover was very positive. As I picked it up it felt of very good quality, not one of those light cheap plastic material things. It comes complete with 4 batteries inside which I've found so so great as it's ready to use, you just have to unscrew the lid and remove the plastic safety part and off you go removing nasty unwanted dead skin away!
I will briefly let you know what I did
1. I first soaked both my feet in the Velvet Smooth Foot Soak for 10-15minutes.
2. I then used the Velvet Smooth Express Pedi on the areas where I had hard skin. I kept on going on these areas until they felt soft and I was happy with the results.
3. I used the Velvet Smooth Essential Moisture to conclude the treatment.
Let me show you the amazing before and after.
Quite something right? I was literally amazed. I knew Scholl is a good brand and had very high expectations but I didn't think it was going to be this good in all honesty. Keep in mind this is after just one application. I'm not dreading Summer anymore now YAAYYYY!!
Also, the foot soak and moisturiser where lovely to use.

I expected this to have a stinging medical kind of scent, but it's totally the opposite.
It has a lovely scent and it really does absorb very quickly into the skin - BIG THUMBS UP!
I'm also applying this every night before bed so that I keep the skin as smooth as possible.
Now, some quick tips, rambling and generic info.
Do not apply too much pressure or press too hard otherwise the gadget will stop for safety reasons. I didn't have any issues with this,but it's suggested to not do so on the packaging. Once you're ready, detach the roller from the device and clean it with water. Let it dry, and put back in place. Do not wet the Express pedi. The same procedure can also be used to remove hard skin and callouses on the hands. You should not try to remove your hard skin and callouses on sore,bleeding,severely cracked skin etc you can inflict further damage.This treatment can be applied as often as you feel like, personally I will keep on doing so twice weekly so that I diminish any build up.
The Velvet Smooth Express Pedi costs 39.90 euros and it's not exactly cheap, BUT it's
fast, easy and effective and it's definitely cheaper than frequent visits to the pedologist. Plus hey, Summer is just round the corner and with our scorching hot weather this is definitely an investment - definitely recommend!
